Early potatoes can go in this week if the soil can be worked easily. If it is still clinging to your boots, wait another week or two.

Potatoes are subtropical plants and prone to frost damage. Protect them with thick layers of pea straw or upended flower pots.

Heirloom Seeds from our Family to Yours

Brown onions, lettuce, cabbage, cauliflower, broccoli, beetroot and swiss chard/silverbeet can all be sown under cloches or early tunnels.

FRUIT

If you have yet to prune your fruit trees, get in and do it now before the buds start growing. Remember to cover each and every cut with pruning paste.

For further reading, I really recommend all of these books. I own every one of them and they are amazing resources!
